New post!

Okay, here is the new post you requested! I went to Vermont to visit a friend and her 2 kids, and when I got back, there were so many new comments! You are crazy kids, I tell ya! I gave my friend's kids Shrinky Dinks and we made them all morning. Has anyone else ever made those before? I love them! That would be a fun science experiment! "What makes the plastic change in a Shrinky Dink?" I'll tell Mr. Wood. :)

Hope you all are enjoying your time off!

2 Hour Delay

Good Morning Everyone,

I just wanted to let you know that I am not sure at what time the Traditions Exhibition will be. The cafeteria will be in use for lunches, so we will have to try to find a new room...possibly the room upstairs? I will have to ask Mrs. Hanton. I imagine it will be from 11-12 or something around there. Just bring in your tradition visual, and we figure it out when we get there! I apologize to the families who want to come. I just tried calling the school and Mrs. Hanton wasn't there yet. If I get an answer, I'll post it here!

Snow Day!

Let's hear it for a long weekend! Woo Hoo! I have to say, I do love snow days. I was a little bummed, because I was looking forward to our Traditions Exhibition. Just to clarify, here is the new Traditions schedule:

--If we have school Monday morning, the exhibition will be from 9-10 Monday morning.

--If we do not have school Monday, Mrs. Hanton will send a recorded message telling you whether we are going to have it Tuesday or not.

As far as other fun activities go, we decided that Tuesday we will have a pajama read-in day. That way we are not in our pajamas for the exhibition. So Tuesday bring your books, your blankets, and your PJs! We will also try to celebrate the 3 holidays we have in our class: Eid, Hanukkah, and Christmas.

Enjoy your day off!

RAIN

Oh my word, when will the rain cease?? My doggies are going crazy being cooped up in the house for so long! This morning Happy got into the bag of cookie treats, trailing cookies across the living room and onto the couch.

*sigh*

Today we got together and talked about service learning a little more. We broke down into committees and will work on our assignments Monday. I'm really excited! FYI, families: we are collecting books in Spanish to send to a school that Mrs. Hanton knows in the DR. After that, we are going to get to work on a project for Sudanese refugees.

In math, we learned about bar graphs. I was impressed with all that the kids knew! Way to go, guys!

This weekend's homework is:
1. MCAS pratcice question (math)
2. Study Link 5.9

Have a good weekend!

"I Feel Grumpy"

Ms. Medler is grumpy today. I wasn't sure why until I remembered that I only drank half of my coffee this morning...Note to self: Finish Morning Coffee!

But it's okay. We all made it through the day anyway, even if I had to say "Be quiet!" 17,000 times. :) The great thing about you kids is that even when I'm grumpy and cranky, I still think you're cute. :)

We are working very hard on our family tradition papers. Don't forget you will also have to think of a visual representation of your tradition for next week's exhibition. You can bake a treat, make a poster, bring in a special item or outfit, or anything else that is representative of your tradition. Let me know if you need help thinking of something.

Tonight the only homework is Study Link 5.6. Jordam, we all miss you. How did the doctor's go?

Sick Day!

Hi Everyone:

Sorry I was out sick today. Jordam, sorry to hear you're sick, too! Boo! I am feeling better, though, and should be in tomorrow. How did the band rehearsal go? How did the class do in general? I'm glad you had Mr. Emerling. I requested him.

Enjoy your day off from homework. Tomorrow you will have a reading response and a study link. :)

Back to relaxing for me.

PS: Did you folks like the snow on Sunday? I did! It was so pretty to watch from my window!

First snow?

Hello everyone!

I was just looking at the forecast and I was seeing that we just might get the first snow tomorrow! I love the first snow of the season. What do you folks think? I am doing your report cards this weekend...it would be nice to watch snow fall as I do your grades! ;)

I wanted to remind band kids that Monday you are having a dress rehearsal for Monday night's concert, so don't forget to bring your instruments.

Anyone doing anything exciting this weekend?

Medley. :)
