Week O' MCAS

Alright,it's about time someone posted a new entry around here! ;) We'll have to see who the webmaster is for the week and put him or her to work!

I have to say again just how awesome you all were at the PEM last Friday. I am so impressed that everyone managed to pull their projects together. Your behavior was outstanding. Very, very well done.

We made it through our first day of MCAS today. We have our other two tests on Wednesday and Friday. Then we won't have any more until May.

Tonight's homework is Study Link 9.1. Don't forget to try the bottom problems, too!

See you all tomorrow!

Hat Day!

Oh my goodness, you folks are right! Hat Day is tomorrow. Since I forgot to remind the class, maybe we can have 2 Hat Days. One tomorrow, and one another week. Sorry!

Oh, and A, Monday is fine to do your book report. :)

Here's Aria!

Here is a fun picture of Aria for you. Isn't she cute? :)

Just a few notes for parents:
-- Next week we are going to the Museum of Science. Permission slips are going home tomorrow and we will need some parent chaperones!

--We are trying to find a time to have a little outing to see the movie Coraline, as we recently finished the book in our class. This would be on a Friday night or a Saturday afternoon. I am thinking maybe Friday, March 20th. Any thoughts?

--Report cards will be going home Friday, 3/20/09. If anyone would like to schedule a 2nd trimester conference, feel free to contact me.

Tonight's homework is:
1. Finish the bottom of Study Link 8.2
2. Finish any "owed work" (The list was on the board for the kids today.)

Have a good evening!

Oh, thank goodness for Friday...

Well, we weren't too exciting with our posts this week, but I wanted to say a Friday hello to you all. I thought I'd include a photo from my trip to Mexico. There are some Mayan ruins in Tulum.

To the parents and families: I will be out next Thursday and Friday. I am going to Pennsylvania with some Junior National Honor Society students and Ms. Sartor, one of the 8th grade students for a JNHS conference. We are hoping to eventually incorporate some JNHS activities into the 5th grade at some point. I have arranged for the kids to have a substitute with whom they are familiar. Hopefully it will go smoothly.

Homework this weekend is a math MCAS practice. Please do your best job!

See you all on Monday!

Reading, Reading, Reading!

******************************

Hola From Mexico... Just kidding! Tonight's homework is a Reading Response that is due Thursday. Today was Read Across America Day so we had a really long read-in, and Mrs. Jaworski read two books about math to us. We also had an assembly in which we found out that our teachers like to dress up like Dr. Seuss characters. It was creepy. Then, a librarian read us the story Green Eggs and Ham". "It was very time-consuming", said an anonymous on-looker." Unfortunately, I ate the clown", said a certain slightly insane hypocrite (cough Noah Sax, cough.)

**This is Ms. Medler now. You two are very silly. Happy Dr. Seuss Day!**

This Just In: Read In Will Happen!

Newsflash!

I just got an email from Mrs. Moses. They are rescheduling the Read Across America Day for tomorrow! So bring your pajamas and books and pillows! We're having the read-in! Woo Hoo!

Another Snow Day!

Hi everyone!

Happy snow day! I think we might be going to school until August at this rate! Ha ha! I'm actually bummed about having a snow day because I was looking forward to Read Across America Day. :( I am assuming that it is going to be canceled, which means tomorrow will be just a regular day. Sorry, guys! We will have to have a pajama day another time.

Don't forget that my guided reading group will be having a quiz tomorrow! Study your words!

Have fun in the snow!
Love, Ms. Medler
