Happy New Year!
Welcome to 2009! We had a very exciting day today. We welcomed a new classmate, who is joining us from another school. It was really nice meeting him, and I know we are all looking forward to getting to know him better.
We began a new unit in math. This unit focuses on data collection, graphing, and statistical landmarks. Don't forget that you can use the online Student Reference Book if you want to!
In writing, we reviewed similes and created our own funny similes. Tomorrow we will move on to metaphors.
Tonight's homework is:
1. Study Link 6.1 (also: ask an adult about how many states he/she has visited!)
2. Observe the moon and fill in the log you received from Mr. Wood

I CAN'T SEEM TO FIND THE MOON.I CHECK 4 TIMES ONE AT 6:27 AT 7:45 AND AT 8:10.I DON'T KNOW I THINK IT'S A NEW MOON
n e one here is every one dead and i'm the only one alive.i also look up the moon on the weather channel.com and it showed the weather that happened today and it said the sunrised at 7:13am and set at 4:27pm and yhat the moonrised at 1:40pm and it would set at4:31am
o and i forgot it said that the moon was a waxing gibbous also,i'm going to check right now if it's out and i wonder how michael is going to take a picture without a moon
